If you’re shopping late (no shame), the East Side is basically built for last-minute gifting: small, walkable pockets where you can grab a “how did you find this?” home good, a bottle of natural wine, a record that actually means something, and a vintage piece with a story—without driving all over town.
Below is a curated route (plus one “Austin-made” bonus stop) featuring Take Heart, Figure 8, BLK Vinyl, LoLo Wine Bar, Blackfeather Vintage Works, Clover + Maven, and Noah Marion—with specific gift moves for each.
The easy route (so you can do this in one outing)
Stop 1: Take Heart (E 11th) → Stop 2: Figure 8 (Chicon) → Stop 3: LoLo + BLK Vinyl (E 6th) → Stop 4: Springdale pocket (Clover + Maven + Blackfeather). Bonus Stop (S Lamar): Noah Marion for Austin-made leather goods (this is a true favorite)!
Take Heart — the “I nailed this gift” gift shop
Where: 1211 E 11th St, Suite 100, Austin, TX 78702
Hours: Mon–Fri 11–6, Sat 10–6, Sun 10–5
Take Heart is one of those East Austin boutiques where you walk in “just to browse” and leave with three perfect little gifts you didn’t know you needed. They’re known for a thoughtfully chosen mix of home goods and personal items, and they carry categories like paper goods, books, jewelry, scents, tea/coffee, and self-care.
Gift moves (fast + foolproof):
-
“Hostess / dinner party” gift: a beautiful candle or incense + a small dish + cooking tool. (Their shop includes a dedicated scents and kitchen section, and you’ll find unique cooking items along with candles/incense at approachable price points.)
-
Stocking-stuffer bundle: socks + a small self-care pick (face/body/hair tools) + a card/sticker.
-
For the design friend: pick one “functional but pretty” object (mug, small tray, match striker, etc.) and call it a day.
Figure 8 Coffee Purveyors — for coffee & wine lovers
Where: 1111 Chicon St, Austin, TX
Hours: 7am–7pm
Figure 8 is an East Austin staple for espresso drinks and beans, but not many people recognize their curated wine collection! It’s a great stop because you can gift both a treat right now and something to take home. It also has the cutest branding, the merch is great.
Gift moves:
-
Seasonal treat: their gingerbread latte is a holiday favorite (they’ve promoted it as a seasonal drink available through Christmas). Say you're meeting up with a friend before the holidays? Bring them a gingerbread latte with some beans to take home. The employees will help you pick the right beans!
-
Wine & Coffee bundle: grab a bag (or two) of their roasted coffee from the cafe/roastery, and choose from their selections of curated wines! (Bonus, they come with little Christmas hat toppers. Hard to resist, I know). Put it in a little basket with a bow? You're done for your loved one who loves wine and coffee!
-
Low-effort win: a gift card + “gingerbread latte on me” note + t-shirt. Good for a person you don't know as well, but want to give something special!

Gift moves:
-
